# What’s the difference between Pages and Posts?

Pages and Posts are two types of Entries that differ in their use and specific characteristics, particularly in terms of URLs and their role on the website. In terms of creation, editing, and saving, pages and posts work the same way.

  • Pages are top-level content, with URLs structured as site name / page name (e.g., site.com/about, site.com/products). They are ideal for unique and non-recurring elements of the website, such as the Homepage, About page, or Contact page. Page content is fully customizable using the Pagebuilder.
  • Posts are second-level content, belonging to a specific content type (e.g., projects, products, news, etc.). They are easily distinguishable from pages by their URL structure, which follows site name / category / category name (e.g., site.com/products/product-1, site.com/projects/project-1). Posts are more dynamic than pages and are typically updated or published more frequently. Each post can have predefined or custom fields based on the type of content it represents. In addition to this fixed structure, additional editorial content can be integrated using the Pagebuilder.

This structure allows for clear and consistent content organization, benefiting both users and search engines.

# Creating a New Entry and Configuring Content

To create a new entry, go to the Entries section in the left navigation bar, select the type of entry you want to create from the submenu, and click the red New Entry button.

  • After clicking Add New Entry, you will be automatically redirected to the new page.
  • In the Page tab, you will find options to set the page title and upload a preview image (Medium).
  • In the Blocks tab, you can organize and customize your textual and visual content using the Page Builder.
  • In the SEO tab, you can configure essential parameters to optimize the page’s visibility on search engines. On the right-hand details panel, you’ll find the Slug field, which is automatically generated based on the page title. However, if needed, you can manually edit it to customize the URL.

# - Publishing and Save as Draft

Once you’ve added the desired content, you can publish the entry or save it as a draft. Clicking the red Create Entry button in the top-right corner will publish the entry online and generate the corresponding URL.

Note: If the entry is not linked within the site (e.g., through the navigation menu or a specific section), the page will only be accessible via its direct URL and will not be easily reachable from the site. It is therefore necessary to create a link to integrate it into the navigation flow.

Clicking the arrow next to Create Entry and selecting Save Draft allows you to save the entry as a draft. This entry will not be visible on the site unless it is published. After completing these actions, you will be redirected to the main area for pages/posts, where you can view all created entries.

# - Set status

The status of an entry determines its visibility on the site:

  • Enabled/Live The page is published and visible on the site (green icon).
  • Disabled/Draft The page is saved but not visible on the site (white icon).

You can change the status of an entry in two ways:

  • While editing the entry, using the Status option on the right-hand side.
  • From the main pages/posts area, selecting an entry and using the dropdown menu Set Status at the bottom center of the page.

# - Edit, Delete and Duplicate contents

After publishing an entry, you can:

  • Edit its content by opening the entry, making the changes, and clicking the red Save button at the top.
  • To delete or duplicate an entry, you can do so directly on the entry page by clicking the red dropdown menu at the top-right corner and selecting Save as New Entry to duplicate it or Delete Entry to remove it.
Alternatively, you can do this from the list of all entries by selecting the desired entry, clicking the Gear icon at the bottom center of the page, and choosing the desired action.

# Page/Post Revision History

Craft keeps track of all changes made to an entry. To revert to a previous version of a page, click the dropdown menu next to the title of the entry you are editing and select the desired version.
After selecting the version, you will be redirected to the page’s preview mode, where you can review the changes and content of the previous version. In this mode, none of the entry fields are editable. From here, you can:
